Allen & Heath have announced plans to release the Xone:K1 MIDI controller later this month. The Xone:K1 is essentially the same controller as Allen & Heath’s Xone:K2, save for the fact that the K1 does not come with an internal sound card, making it a cheaper alternative for those who do not need the audio conversion capabilities of the K2. Beyond that, the controller boasts virtually the same feature set: “six endless rotary encoders with push switch, 12 analog pots, four linear faders, and 30 backlit performance switches with three-color illumination.” Furthermore, multiple K1 and K2 controllers can be linked together using the company’s X:LINK protocol.

The pair of videos below give a further overview of the Xone:K1’s features; the controller is expected to hit stores before the month is through.
