Paul Dickow has long been a key player in Portland’s electronic and experimental music communities, having played the drums for punk group Emergency and ambient outfit Nudge, released albums on labels like Kranky, and remixed a wide array of genres under his Strategy moniker. Music for Lamping, out now via Audio Dregs, collects Dickow’s downtempo and ambient compositions from the last six years. In his own words, the disc “is a totally solid counterpoint to the pop/dance stuff [he has] become known for.”
