Belgian producer Locked Groove (a.k.a. Tim Van de Meutter) just sent over a track he’s been working on, offering to our readers as an exclusive one-off. It’s a bit out of the blue, but we don’t really need an occasion to post a Locked Groove tune—this one in particular, “Affinity,” is reason enough in and of itself. Van de Meutter’s production showcases many of the strengths found in his previous work: “Affinity” opens with some pounding, barebones techno and eventually sinks into softer moments of whirring synths and effervescent basslines, with some faraway and soulful female vocals thrown in for good measure.
