When one thinks of Paris, dark and undulating techno is not usually the sound that immediately comes to mind, but that is in fact the home of Mondkopf (pictured above), a co-founder of the In Paradisum imprint and the producer whose original “Fading Rainbow” tune served as the sole ambient offering on his otherwise gnarled Ease Your Mind EP from earlier this year. Now, a trio of reworks have been gathered for a new remix EP, including this one from Raster Noton affiliate Kangding Ray, who reshapes the aimless track into a driving, focused excursion into noise-flecked techno. Kangdig Ray’s production can be found alongside similarly dense techno refittings by Low Jack and Somaticae on the recently released Ease Your Pain Remixes EP.
