Longtime Rinse affiliate Zinc (pictured above) squeezed in the Only for Tonight EP—a six-track effort which found the producer continuing to explore his self-proclaimed “crack house” sound—just before 2012 was through. Recently, the EP’s title track (which features vocal contributions from fellow Londoner Sasha Keable) received its own release as a proper single, complete with an instrumental version and remixes from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and this freebie from budding UK duo Maison Sky. The pair takes the focus away from the original tune’s vocal offerings on this version, and instead rolls out a precise procession of strong-armed percussion, helping move “Only for Tonight” into a considerably darker and more forceful space.
