Uproot Andy has proven himself adept at refitting various global rythyms and styles into his dancefloor-aimed productions over the years, and with his newly launched Que Bajo imprint—an extension of the NYC party Andy runs alongisde Geko Jones—the longstanding producer appears likely to only further hone his craft. The new label’s first release, Worldwide Ting Vol. 1, has now officially arrived as a free downlod of five remixes by the label boss himself. Featured here, Uproot Andy’s take on “Homenaje a Justino” from Colombian outfit Grupo Socavon infuses the traditional tune with a fortified bounce and a host of extra synth flourishes—turning the once purely tropical music into an infectious slice of hybrid club sounds.
