UK garage and bassline maverick DJ Q has had a busy year thus far, having already released two singles via Local Action under his own name and another via Unknown to the Unknown under his Classified alias. And it looks like it’s about to get busier, as the producer will soon kick off a series of five EPs called Q Bass Trax. The first of these is due to see release on July 29 via his own Q Recordings imprint, and presents two playful, sample-driven tunes, “Big” and “Come With Me.” Bonus cut “Makaveli” is a hybrid slice of bass-heavy, eski/bassline production work which marks a bit of a change of tack from DJ Q’s lighter, vocal-led fare of late.
