The two Buenos Aires-based producers who make up DJs Pareja have made a name for themselves in Argentina over the years, and through the Huntleys & Palmers imprint, the pair has just released an EP of odd-ball house cuts called Steps. From that record, we have a remix of b-side track “La Risa” by Carisma, a light-headed dancefloor groove built on a slinky bassline, strewn about vocals, and echoing 808 cowbells. A stinging synth melody roots itself to the center of Carisma’s mix, giving a sense of order to the dizzying and percussive production.
