Draag is a Russian producer who concerns himself with the darker, heavier ends of techno. Though not included on his recent “Occulted” b/w “Tumult” single (artwork above) for the fledgling Flexxseal label, “Odd Feel” is a prime example of the brooding territory Draag likes to explore. From the simple beginning of a warehouse-ready kick, the production builds into a colossal structure of sound, one led by a number of burnt synth sequences and atonal drones—all of which feels just on the verge of breaking loose from the sturdy drums and metallic percussion keeping it in check.
