Luv Grooves is the appropriately titled debut LP from Slovakian producer Embryo, which saw its release last month via the House of Unity label. Spanning eight tracks, Luv Grooves; focus is on crafting soulful house constructions, ones often peppered with thick organ and Rhodes chords as well as the snap and swing of classic drum machine programming. “Don’t Need You Around (My Man)” serves as the LP’s honorary ninth track, a bonus cut which leaps forward with bulbous percussion, crunchy hats, and the soaring vocal samples which lead the floor-focused procession.
