In the course of Iride, Kuoyah‘s forthcoming debut LP for the Frijsfo label, “Blue Drift” signals that the album is entering its final phase—its elongated chords and gradually shifting textures giving the record one of its most contemplative moments. Spanning five minutes, the track wraps a steady stream of jagged rhythms with thick sheets of cavernous melodies and sunken synth tones, leaving plenty of space to sneak in the occasional muffled vocal sample. One of 13 productions set to appear on Kuoyah’s forthcoming Iride LP (which is set to close with a remix from Warp duo Plaid), “Blue Drift” can be downloaded below before the Italian-born, London-based aritst’s debut long-player lands on March 30.
