This XLR8R download is not for the faint of heart. A bonus edit of a track from Ténèbre‘s forthcoming Fonctions Décombres EP (out April 20 via the producer’s own Ténèbre Audio label), “Smart City (Antigroove)” is first and foremost focused on constructing dark, pummeling rhythms which are joined only by a sinister set of dense strings. Perhaps even more interesting though is that the track makes use of a 3/4 rhythmic structure, a rarity in the largely 4/4-dominated realm that is our Downloads section. A French-born producer currently based in the Korean city of Seoul, Ténèbre’s “Smart City (Antigroove)” production can be grabbed for free below, where a preview stream of the man’s upcoming Fonctions Décombres EP has also been included.
