Hailing from Wales, the somewhat mysterious musical duo known as Petwo Evans has released its second EP via Huntleys + Palmers, XOX Part 1. In an admittedly compelling approach to its production, the four-track EP uses a great deal of field recording from found objects on a farm in West Wales. Taking these sounds and running them through its equipment, the duo creates “music that seems to reflect the landscape – age-old continental drifts, abandoned industrial quarries and the Blade Runner-thrill of driving through Port Talbot (Wales) at night.”

EP cut “LOA,” combines a remote and distant piano sound, tribal chanting, and creates great contrast in its drums and percussion by combining the totemic rhythms with the precise underlying beat that gives the song such unique movement.
