Mexican duo Soul Of Hex, which is made up of artists 4004 and Sebastien Vorhaus, have had a great few years under their various monikers with releases for Freerange, Dirt Crew, Vicario Ltd, and CVMR. The duo’s debut EP, Lip Reading, was accompanied by a remix from legendary musician Larry Heard—putting Soul Of Hex on the map in the world of house.
Following the release of the third Soul of Hex EP, Sleep Mistakes, which dropped earlier this year on CVMR, the duo has graciously offered up the title track as today’s XLR8R download. “Sleep Mistakes ft. Albert Vogt” retains a organic house aesthetic with smooth and subtle jazz-infused bass licks, loose percussive lines, soulful vocal stylings, and bright Rhodes chords that all tie together in a compelling and waning atmospheric house sound.
