The English poet, musician, and composer Anne Clark is a renowned renaissance woman who is celebrated for her romantic musical stylings of the electronic and avant-garde. A spoken word artist, the subjects she grapples with her lyrics are often political and gloomy, which, when coupled alongside her ground-breaking analog compositions, had Clark’s tracks sitting on the cutting-edge of musical exploration in the 80’s and 90’s.
Her influence on techno has gone far and beyond anything she could have possibly imagined back then and to pay tribute to her considerable sonic significance in the scene, the Irish DJ-producer Jordan has offered up his edit of the classic track “Sleeper in the Metropolis” as today’s XLR8R download.
