Hailing from Glasgow, Bryan McFarland has been producing music under his Scatabrainz moniker for over fifteen years. Despite having a solid grasp on his hip-hop based electronic sound and having been invited to play at festivals such as T-In-The-Park and HipHop Kemp, he felt like it was time for a change. Inspired by artists such as Pariah, Caribou, Throwing Snow, and more, McFarland has started to produce music under his freshly made moniker bmfbmf and the results are top-notch.
McFarland has offered up his track “Mould Me” from his debut EP to be given out as today’s XLR8R download. Downtempo and brooding, the track utilizes groveling bass tones, eyeful strings, and arresting vocal samples that give the tune an air of mystery and solemnity.
