Amsterdam-based artist Dollkraut will release a new album, titled Holy Ghost People.

Holy Ghost People will be Dollkraut’s second LP and the first for Jennifer Cardini and Noura Labbani’s newly founded Dischi Autunno—a brand new label to focus on rock, indie, ambient, prog and experimental music. Each Dischi Autunno record will have a unique artwork created by UK visual artist, photographer, and filmmaker Stevie Anderson.

According to the imprint, the release sees Dollkraut push “the organic lo-fi sound from his earlier records even further, putting his band (drums/ bass/ synths/ vocals) in the center.” While Dollkraut’s debut album was inspired by the lousy, stinky roughness of the old German industrial district of Ruhrgebiet, Holy Ghost People sees the producer delve “into unsettling feelings (such as deep loneliness).” “Imagine Holy Ghost People as a fairytale-ish horror film,” continues the label, “a girl in a white satin dress getting lost in endless Norwegian woods.”

Old movie soundtracks were a major inspiration, preferring the European genre cinema with its seediness, emotional, and moral ambivalence to the pristine Hollywood productions.
