Collaboratively, LA DJ-producers Bystander and Give In fuse decades worth of techno and house experience into their original compositions. As Bystander, Sean Patrick is a veteran of the scene. Through sets alongside everyone from Richie Hawtin to The Orb under his belt in addition to over 20 years of studio experience, Patrick has become intimately familiar with innumerable permutations of four-on-the-floor music. George Cochrane’s Give In project—an aside from his work in Wild & Free—complements his partner’s seasoned production chops with a refreshing dose of melodic introspection.
On August 18, eclectic Los Angeles imprint Rock It Science Labs released Echo Beach West, a four track offering that sees the two looking deep into their past sound while employing a variety of new elements, including a vocal debut from Patrick. “Stay Down,” a dynamic, sultry EP cut, has been made available for today’s XLR8R download.
