Los Angeles party/collective The Melt is in the midst of getting its fledgling label arm into action, and has decided to introduce what all it plans to bring to the electronic-music world in the form of a free compilation featuring the likes of Deebs, Obey City, The Range, Wondr, and LA’s own Kloud. On “Ceremonies,” Kloud’s contribution to the effort, the budding producer crafts an uplifting beat of sorts; it’s led by processions of skittering drums and cascading synths, yet the tune remains anchored by a giant, poignant bassline. Oh yeah, there are some Kendrick Lamar vocal chops too. The 19-track The Melt Vol. 1 compilation can be downloaded for free via the label’s Bandcamp.
