Earlier this month, recent Brooklyn transplant Pictureplane (a.k.a. Travis Egedy) released The Alien Body mixtape, an eclectic 17-track collection of collaborations, remixes, and new productions from the former XLR8Rpodcast contributor. Lifted from the new effort is “Cramping on the Ice,” a throwback track of sorts that channels ’90s rave nostalgia alongside an uncomplicated mid-tempo beat, which serves as the bed to echoing vocal samples and an unwavering synth scale.
