The SoundCloud page of Houston newcomer j.Faraday is plastered with minute-long sketches of syrupy, bass-minded beats, but “Don’t Need U” is a considerably more developed piece of audio. The slow, fully fleshed-out head nodder purportedly hints at Faraday’s evolving production style, something which is likely to be featured on a proper release in the near future. However, before then, Seattle’s Hush Hush imprint has decided to offer up a collection of the Texas producer’s more quickly assembled works for a 20-track digital “beat tape.” The simply titled Beat Tape #1 (artwork above) is out now and availible at a price of the downloader’s choosing via Hush Hush’s Bandcamp.
