Daddy Kev’s ever-growing Alpha Pup label is set to add a new LP from budding LA talent Elusive to its catalog later this month. Pulled from the upcoming Blue Blanc album is “Forbidden Fruit,” a jazz-touched production that finds Elusive trying his hand at the off-kilter rhythms, loose percussion, and bluesy chords that have become staples of the SoCal beat scene. Still, Elusive finds ways to add his own touch to the proceedings, taking time out to focus on some delicate snaps and hiding sneaky Rhodes leads underneath sections of the lopsided affair. “Forbidden Fruit” can be downloaded below before the producer’s Blue Blanc LP officially lands on September 16.
