At the end of last week, Milan duo Hiver followed up 2015’s Same Mistake Twice EP with their return to Belgium imprint Curle, Soundescence.
The four-track outing is the Italian group’s third EP on Curle, a partnership that over the years has garnered them support from techno heavyweights such as Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, and Efdemin. Each track on Soundescence presents a different side of Hiver’s sound, from the melodically-rich, psychedelia of the EP’s title track to the tripped-out breaks of “One More Snooze.”
In support of the EP, the duo and Curle have offered up closing cut, “Foor Diving,” as today’s XLR8R download. With an insatiable electro groove as it’s backbone, “Floor Diving” closes the EP in style with seductive synth work and floating, ethereal atmospheres.
