Multi-instrumentalist Jack Grace followed up a recent feature in XLR8R‘s Top 10 Rising Australian Producers list with the release of his debut EP, River, via Solitaire Recordings on October 28.

River is an assured outing that places Grace’s impressive production chops on center stage with six highly-emotive cuts. With the electronic-soul of artists such as James Blake and Airhead an obvious touchstone, Grace’s music looks inward and attempts to reinterpret his personal values, as he explains:

“My music is an opportunity for me to reclaim the protestant values I was raised on and re-interpret them into a secular context, investigating them within a new light and re-claiming them for mine and hopefully others well being.”

In support of the release of the EP, Grace and Solitaire have offered up poignant EP cut “Stop Asking” as today’s XLR8R download, available via WeTransfer below. You can also pick up the full EP via Jack Grace’s Bandcamp page.
