Admittedly, on paper, this download may seem a bit strange. What we have here is UK producer Rope‘s 135-bpm refix of “Making of a Cyborg,” a memorable composition from Kenji Kawai‘s soundtrack to renowned anime Ghost in the Shell. But no matter how peculiar that set-up may seem, it’s hard to argue with the results—Rope deftly chops “Making of a Cyborg” into bite-size portions which fit snugly between the cyclical cascade of machine-made kicks, snares, and percussion hits. From epic anime soundtrack to heavy-handed club tune, Rope succeeds in giving “Making of a Cyborg” a truly unexpected transformation.
