Later this month, Opilec Music will release Drone, the latest EP from Italian producer and Sticky Music label boss Mark Evemport.

The eight-track Drone EP precedes a 22-track album—set to drop via Sticky Music later this year—with both releases featuring a selection of music curated by Opilec label head I-Robots from Evemport’s unreleased vault. Drone wears Evemports disco, afro, and techno influences on its sleeves with a set of deep and dubby cuts built around tribal rhythms and intoxicating atmospheres. The EP flows through three chapters of varying intensity, as Evemport explains:

“The EP, in my opinion, can be divided into three distinct parts: the first one explores the deepest African sounds, the second part is built around two tracks with hypnotic grooves but at the same time aggressive moods, and finally three tracks that were born from my desire to get outside what I’ve produced so far.”

To give our readers a taste, Evemport has offered up the EP’s otherworldly closing track, “Woxy,” as today’s XLR8R download. Built around an alluring low-slung groove and floating atmospheres, it’s the type of track that will provide perfect introspective dancefloor moments.
