The fledgling label arm of South London’s Church party has a new EP on the way from Rumah, one of the crew’s resident producers. To help spread the word, Church has enlisted Severn Beach (an alias of fellow Londoner James Fox) to rework EP track “Murmur,” which he delivers here with an extra dose of strong-armed sonics. Fox’s impressively sturdy techno refix builds methodically, with touches of space-born percussion and soul-drenched chords creeping in as the track pummels through its five-plus-minute run. “Murmur (Severn Beach Remix)” will not appear on the forthcoming Stutter/ Murmur EP when it drops on April 29, but a remix by Fox under his own name will be included along with Rumah’s two original tracks and an additional remix from Church residents Apes and Seb Wildblood.
