Obgon is a Moscow-based producer who also heads up the city’s fledgling Incompetence label, the latest release from which is Obgon’s own Work mini-LP. Across its nine tracks, the record finds the Russian talent experimenting with different forms of handmade techno, at times letting his various machines run wild while also using a few efforts to chart a more serene path amongst the various hardware tones. Album cut “Termez Train” falls somewhere between the two; anchored by a crisp four-on-the-floor, the track revolves around a hazy drone to which Obgon adds robotic melodies and a flurry of charging hats. “Termez Train” can be grabbed below where those interested in hearing what else the budding Moscow artist has up his sleeve can also stream Obgon’s full Work record.
