As a member of the San Fransisco-based Afrolicious collective and club night, Ozgood (FKA Señor Oz) has displayed a unique penchant for the fusion of disco, house, and funk in his DJ sets. This wide-ranging dance foundation forms the the basis for his combination of live and synthesized sounds, exemplified by Afrolicious’ various residency nights. Here, where the group showcases a host of local MCs and live percussionists, everything comes together into a vibrant, cohesive tapestry of sound.

In light of his club success, as well as a string of remixes for Six Degrees Records, Akwaaba Music, and Spring Strut Recordings, Oz has teamed up with Bay area vocalist Yacouba Diarra to offer up his “No Water No Life” single. On the flip, Only Now—alias of fellow San Fransiscan Kush Arora—offers up a hypnotizing, dancehall-tinged take on the release, available for today’s XLR8R download.
