The original version of Martyn‘s “We Are You in the Future” appeared nearly two years ago as part of the excellent Ghost People LP, and provided a truly epic finish to the producer’s second album (it was our sixth favorite track of 2011, too). So while it’s surprising to see that a free download has appeared for Claude Speeed‘s belated remix of the tune, it’s simultaneously exhilarating to revisit this music. What’s more, the Berlin-based producer’s “You Are Us in the Past” version of Martyn’s track is a wholly new experience, one which utilizes half-discernable fragments and trace elements of the original production within its droning, expansive space.
