British dance-rock trio Fujiya & Miyagi have kept a few show dates in the UK during the month of February, but it looks like the boys are saving most of their energy for March, when they head Stateside for several shows supporting their latest album. Transparent Things drops today and unabashedly claims influence from the Talking Heads, the Happy Mondays, and even Serge Gainsbourg. It’s also the type of music that will likely translate well into a live setting, with an enjoyable balance of “real” instruments and programmed sounds, and a healthy dose of witty lyrics to finish things off.

Post tour the band has a few SXSW appearances before heading back to Europe. Transparent Things is out TODAY (January 23, 2007) on Tirk. Stream the entire album at mp3.com for a preview.
