Mutek and Piknic Électronik are working together to throw a fourth Nuit Electronik, a part of both Nuit Blanche and the Montréal High Lights festival. This year the night will be held at Metropolis to facilitate larger crowds and more acts.

An iPod battle will kick things off in the Savoy from 10 pm until 1 am. Competitors include Bande à Part, Mutek, Piknic Électronik, Ninja Tune, I Love Neon, Numéro, Sexy Boy, and La Presse. In the main room, The Mole (Wagon Repair) will warm things up for Ernesto Ferreyra (Mutek). For those who choose iPods over opening DJs, they’ll have a half-hour to make it down to the main room for DJ Koze’s (Kompakt) long-awaited, inaugural Montréal appearance. Next on the bill is James Holden (Border Community), who will undoubtedly open things up and double the melodies and arpeggios per track. If at that point you feel that you can rave until breakfast, then Montréal’s rising artist Bender will provide musical caffeine, or whatever, beginning just after 6 am.

Nuit Electronik takes place March 3, 2007.

Tickets are $30 (pre-sale) and $35 (at the door), taxes included.
