Later this month, Untold’s Hemlock Recordings label will be expanding its artist roster to another continent, thanks to new Canadian signee Nautiluss (a.k.a. Graham Douglas Bertie), who has teamed up with London-based vocalist Lord Skywave (a.k.a. Simon Lord) on the imprint’s latest single. “Ultraviolet” b/w “Bleu Monday” is scheduled to drop on September 26, but both tracks are streaming in their entirety, below. Nautiluss and Lord Skywave bring a lot of experience to the table, as the former previously crafted beats as one-half of Thunderheist and Bassanovva, while the latter lent his pipes to groups such as Simian and the Black Ghosts. The duo’s avant-pop collaboration on “Ultraviolet” is definitely a new direction for Hemlock, although the Nautiluss solo outing on the b-side, “Bleu Monday,” offers the deep bass, clacking percussion, and wistful melodies one would expect from the label. Listen for yourself, and take a second to look at the single artwork, which has also been posted below.
