Although details remain sketchy at this time, it appears that Brainfeeder-affiliated artist Austin Peralta has unexpectedly passed away. Last night, word of his death began circulating online, and this post from Ninja Tune seems to confirm his passing. Tragically, Peralta was only 22 years old, but had been active in the music world since his teen years. Renowned at a young age for his prodigious skills as a pianist as composer, the LA-based musician was eventually taken in by the Brainfeeder camp, which released his 2011 LP, Endless Planets. Peralta also appeared on Flying Lotus’ recently released album, Until the Quiet Comes. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. (Update: Brainfeeder has posted an announcement of sorts on its website and Flying Lotus has acknowledged Peralta’s passing on Twitter. FlyLo also announced that he would not be traveling to Japan to perform at this weekend’s Electraglide festival.)
