It was just last week when we learned that busy UK producer Jon Hopkins (pictured above) was preparing to issue an extended version of his excellent Immunity LP, with remixes from the likes of Luke Abbot, Nosaj Thing, Happa, and Hessle Audio cohort Pangaea joining the album’s original tracklist. And now that Immunity (Extended Edition) is available as an iTunes exclusive, “Collider (Pangaea Remix)” is available to stream in full. The crunchy, meditative production pulses along with a decidedly heavy thump. Pangaea seems to borrow only a few choice elements from Hopkins’ original track, and transforms the finely detailed “Collider” into something altogether more brash and oppressive.
