LA-based synth-pop duo Soft Metals (a.k.a. Ian Hicks and Patricia Hall) is continuing to tour off the back of its sophomore albumLenses from last year, with a series of European dates (and one in Mexico City) set for the spring. The ’80s-indebted outfit has also announced a new remix LP which will see a vinyl release via Mecanica in March. Limited to 450 copies on white-and-black splatter vinyl, the eight-song Lenses Remixes will feature contributions from Tying Tiffany, Jesse Ruins, L-Sedition, and more. Los Angeles techno veteran Silent Servant crafted a grim edit of “Tell Me” for the remix album, transforming the original song’s synth-heavy bliss into a steely acid workout and hollowing out Hall’s vocals until they hang like ambient gauze. Lenses Remixes—out digitally on February 3 and on vinyl on March 3—can be preordered here. The full stream of Silent Servant’s remix, along with Soft Metals’ live schedule, can be found below.
