Though it only has a discography of five records, London label Lobster Theremin has quickly carved out a niche for itself. It’s sound is noisy and abrasive, with rugged hardware-centric tones provided by the likes of Palm Trax, Steve Murphy, and Snow Bone. Now, however, the label is diversifying by starting a more techno-focused offshoot imprint called the Black Label series. The first EP comes courtesy of Manse, an Opal Tapes veteran, who sets the tone with LTBLK001, which features three booming prime time tracks which are described by a press release as, “Shed-meets-Trade-meets-Oake.” The EP is scheduled to drop in vinyl form on May 5; in the meantime, the record can be previewed below.
