Last March, a group of European musicians traveled to Morocco to participate in the fifth Marrakech Biennale, a creative residency which allowed producers such as Floating Points (pictured above), James Holden, Vessel, and Biosphere to collaborate with local Gnawa musicians like Maâlem Mahmoud Guinia. Now, Floating Points’ Eglo imprint will release a 12″ to commemorate the event, which will also include a 20-page booklet of photographs by Camille Blake.

The Marhaba EP will feature two cuts that Floating Points and Holden performed individually with Guinia, a singer and master guembri (three-stringed bass lute) player. Although Marhaba‘s official street date is set for April 20—with Holden’s Border Community label handling a digital release—Floating Points has confirmed that advanced copies can be purchased at the Independent Record Label Market in London this Saturday.
