Paris-based musical hardware researcher and developer Squarp Instruments announce its inaugural Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer. The “advanced hardware standalone sequencer” will run the Squarp owned PyraOs realtime processing firmware and boasts multiple MIDI, USB, CV/Gate, and DIN Sync (Sync48- and Sync24-configurable) outputs, allowing connection to hardware, software, and even iOS instruments. The sequencer is fully polyrhythmic, meaning different time signatures can be set for each of its 64 tracks to cleverly create shifted-beat sequences. The Pyramid comes in a road-ready aluminium casing and measures a mere 268 x 206 x 44 mm. It also includes a multipoint touchpad, inspired by Korg’s Kaoss Pad and Kaossilator.

Squarp is now taking preorders for the Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer and will begin shipping next month. You can find more information on the sequencer here, with four demonstration videos available to stream below.
