Ableton have announced their latest technology, Link, which is available to all Ableton Live 9 users now as part of the beta programme.

Link aims to allow users to play together as a live band would, but without the need for a MIDI setup — instead, users can connect devices through their local wireless network, which will automatically sync the tempo of all the different participants. Ableton state that Link will soon be available in a growing number of iOS apps, which will allow connection between Live and iOS apps, or even just the iOS apps together (without the need for Live to be involved).

Users of Live can join the beta programme in order to try out Link now. Also, head over to the Ableton site to see which iOS apps are Link ready.
