Dara Smith (a.k.a. Arad), one half of Irish techno duo Lakker, has shared details of his debut solo album, Particles and Waves, which is due out later this month.

Smith launched his Arad project last year, with an EP entitled Haon on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe imprint. Many will be familiar with him for his work together with Ian McDonnell (a.k.a. Eomac) as Lakker, a pairing who have had releases on the likes of R&S and Blueprint. He is now set to return to Electric Deluxe for his debut solo album, which covers a variety of differing techno styles and tempos, and also marks the beginning of a limited series on the Dutch imprint. Smith, a motion graphics designer by trade, has sought to create “a project born from the audio-visual intersection,” with a limited edition double LP package that features artwork produced by Jan Willem.
