For the past six years—ever since their last performance during Ultra Miami back in 2010—fans of Sasha & John Digweed have prayed for a holy reunion between two of the biggest names in progressive house music. With the recent news of the duo sharing the stage at Ministry of Sound in London over Easter weekend, and the ambiguous reconciliation message that was released on April Fool’s day, rumors of a homecoming started to louden.

Now, XLR8R is proud to report that Sasha and Digweed are set to headline at The Social Festival, UK, on Friday September 9, to kick-off their 2016 tour. The event will take place at the Kent County Showground in Maidstone, Kent located 32 miles south-east of London, and Friday night’s showcase will be limited to just 5,000 attendees. Pre-sale tickets are strongly encouraged as the event is likely to sell out very quickly.

Following along with all of these exciting announcements is news that the festival will also introduce a second day, including a headlining set on Saturday by the deeply loved techno heavyweight Carl Cox. In a recent conversation with respected producer and festival organizer Nic Fanciulli, the artist stated: “I’ve never been more excited to announce our headliners for The Social Festival. The lineup is filled with friends, mentors, and dance music legends. It really means a lot to me.” With the full lineup yet to be released, it is already shaping up to be a wildly satisfying weekend.

When Sasha & John Digweed were asked about their first official reunion show in over six years, both were enthusiastic about the upcoming performance. “Its been incredible to see the reaction from our unannounced back to back gig in London last month which took everyone by surprise, so our planned set this September at The Social is set to be a massive, not-to-be-missed event in the clubland calendar,” said Digweed. When Sasha was reached for a quote he stated, “(I’m) very happy to be playing with John again and blown away by the excitement around our comeback. Its fantastic we get to do our first proper gig back at the Social festival. Last year’s was a brilliant event and so much fun. Can’t wait!”
