A new Aphex Twin EP on Warp Records appears to be imminent.

The British label has mailed a flyer to a selection of record stores, which points to new material from Richard D. James. Yesterday British stores Norman Records and Drift Record Shop both posted photos of the mail-out, which takes the form of a classically-styled paper advert. Along with an image of the presumed artwork, some text presents the record as though it is an instrument for sale:

“The Aphex Twin Cheetah EP uses digital sound generation techniques combined with wave sequencing technology to bring you sounds with movement and depth rarely found on records today. To assure you that your Cheetah EP will give you many years of enjoyment, please be sure to read the owners manual carefully before attempting to operate the Cheetah EP. If you wish to experiment and create some sounds of your own, first try editing some sounds we’ve already made for you, before attempting to create a patch from scratch.”

Cheetah is expected to arrive soon. More information to follow.
