Romania’s 3 Smoked Olives festival returns this month for its seventh edition, taking place from July 24 to 30. On the bill are Francesco del Garda, Herodot, Lamache, Clovis, and more.

3 Smokes Olives was first organized nine years ago as an outdoor gathering for a group of friends and has now evolved to become an event in itself, with multiple stages set up and various well-known artists. Visitors enjoy a varied and outdoorsy program: besides the music-filled evenings, they can do yoga, wake-boarding, or enjoy a boat ride on the Danube.

The event takes place on an island in the Danube River, on the border between Romania and Bulgaria, more precisely near the crossing point between Calarasi [RO] & Silistra [BG], in Ostrov. When the river is at its highest, the island stays under water for more than three months. The nearest airport is Bucharest, but you can take a train to Calarasi to be even closer. Various transfer options are made available by the organisers.

More information on the event, including the full lineup and ticketing options, can be found on the official site here. Meanwhile, you can stream an after-movie from last year’s edition below.
