SBCLTR, a promising new Los Angeles-based event series with a focus on deep house and techno, will hold its third party this weekend at Bonaventure Brewing Company at the Westin-Bonaventure Hotel in DTLA. To commemorate SBCLTR’s first Burning Man experience, the event organizers are calling the party ‘Dusty Decompression’ and aim to bring deep sounds and Burner vibes to Los Angeles on Sunday, September 18. Headlining the decompression is All Day I Dream contributor and Do Not Sit On The Furniture owner Behrouz, who has quickly become an embodiment of the Burning Man sound via his role as a resident at Robot Heart. A solid cast of selectors will join Behrouz for the Sunday afternoon affair, including local talent Tara Brooks, tribal house experts Viken Arman and Armen Miran, and rising German duo Just Emma.

In preparation for SBCLTR’s Dusty Decompression, XLR8R sat down with the event’s founders to find out a bit more about this exciting new series.

When did SBCLTR start throwing events and who is the team behind them?
Being avid music listeners, the culture has been infused in our DNA. Over the course of many years, our inspiration and recognition of house music developed and SBCLTR was the byproduct. Even though SBCLTR was only born in 2016, we are excited to bring premium experiences to Los Angeles for many years to come. SBCLTR was founded by Roni Mehrabian and Patrik Khachatourian but would not be possible without our amazing team of friends and supporters, including Michael Batmanian, Anita Yardemian, and Arvin Shirinyans. Not to mention the continuous support by LA Event and Grounded Productions, who pride themselves on delivering nothing short of quality events. Without the collective team, there is no SBCLTR.

Is there a specific vision or musical inspiration behind your parties?
Our vision is simple, we want quality. Quality artists, quality relationships, and an altogether quality experience for our attendees. We provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their ingenious talent, go above and beyond mere production minimums, and spend excruciating time and effort to find premium venues. The music we display is always within the musical realm of house music and always danceable. We like to target niche artists that otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to play in LA.

What can we expect to see from SBCLTR in the future?
Well, we don’t want to give away too much but you can be sure to expect some big things coming, lots of dancing and lots of goosebumps. We always go back to the drawing board brainstorming new unique ideas and we like to explore all corners of creativity. Music is our true love, but building a conscious community that is well informed is also important for the betterment of society in general.
