A follow-up to last year’s impressive Swisher LP for RVNG, NYC duo Blondes (a.k.a. Sam Haar and Zach Steinman) have dropped Rewire, a new remix EP featuring the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Function, Claro Intelecto, and Huerco S. Billed as a “visual single,” Huerco S.’ take on “Wire” applies his signature washed-out aesthetic, transforming the piece by meshing together persistent sounds of mechanical clanging with unsettling key chords into a meticulously constructed production. Below, the clip for “Wire (Huerco S. Remix)” boasts a rugged aesthetic which aptly matches the rework’s abstract sonics.
