Just before the weekend, we were tipped off that LA-based house specialist Marc Kinchen (a.k.a. MK) was next in line for BBC Radio 1‘s Essential Mix series. The two-hour broadcast aired this past Saturday—chock full of the mixmaster’s unreleased remixes for the likes of Disclosure, Hot Natured, and others—but is also now available to stream in full. Boasting 30 eclectic tracks spanning the spectrum of pop-inflected dance music (or dance-inflected pop music), the latest Essential Mix is a quality document of where MK’s classic sound fits in with the new crop of artists he may have directly and indirectly inspired.
