Coinciding with the release of his second full-length album for famed Belgian imprint R&S, Lone has delivered the latest installment in Resident Advisor’s podcast series. The DJ/producer born Matt Cutler got his start crafting hip-hop for outfits like Werk Discs, but his arrival on R&S marked a shift toward clean cut, prismatic UK rave. Out today, Reality Testing sees the Manchester-based artist making another stylistic swerve, revisiting classic ’90s hip-hop as well as the current renaissance of raw, hardware-based house. His RA mix reportedly spotlights some of the main influences to play into this most recent effort, and leaks a certain signature nostalgia.
