Some might argue that there are enough Sade edits already floating around–Soo Wavey duo Vin Sol and Matrixxman, for example, recently put out a couple white label reworks–but now Night Slugs co-head L-Vis 1990 has decided to take a stab at the iconic UK vocalist’s “Never Thought I’d See The Day,” continuing an affinity for ’90s-inflected R&B shown on his debut album for PMR. His sparse “Sunrise Edit” hones in on Sade’s sumptuous vocals, drops in skipping breakbeats, and shows off the refined production standards upheld in his recent single “Ballads 4D” without compromising the original’s power-sax solo, and can be downloaded for free below.
