Tom Krell (a.k.a. How To Dress Well) has shared a new video single from his forthcoming album, The Anteroom.

The Anteroom, which drops via Domino on Friday, is the fifth LP under Krell’s How to Dress Well moniker, presenting “blizzardous electronic noise, fragile melodies, and poignant poetry,” while reclaiming “the experimental core of the HTDW project.” Recorded after Krell relocated to LA, the album was co-produced by Oneohtrix Point Never-collaborator Joel Ford.

The new video for single “Body Fat” was written by Krell and co-directed Justin Daashuur Hopkins and Krell. The single looks to the transmission of trauma, as Krell explains:

“The song is about the intergenerational transmission of trauma – about the way rage persists in the flesh from way before you as an individual. This is why life is painful, why love is difficult… When I first started writing it, I felt like ‘damn THIS is the song I’ve been trying to write for the last 5 years.”

You can find the video below, along with a new mix from Krell titled • If We Do Feel Empty Inside, What Are We Supposed To Do About It? •.
